The Future of AI in Europe

AI has been recognized as one of the most important topics of our time. Many countries in the world are currently discussing how to take a leading position and make the most of AI. Europe has a long tradition of successful research and innovation in the area of AI, but many still feel that Europe needs to do more to be at the forefront of AI development. This high level panel with representatives from the European Commission, the Swedish Government, EurAI, and the AI community will discuss the Future of AI in Europe. The panel will be followed by a panel on the European AI Strategy.

The AI Strategy for Europe

This session will present the AI strategy announced by the European Commission on 25 April, highlighting the importance to join forces and to build on Europe’s excellence; therefore the mobilization of the AI community is key! The session will also present the funding opportunities for AI in the EU Research and Innovation programme Horizon2020, as well as the opportunity to contribute to the European AI alliance, a multi-stakeholder forum discussing the future of AI from its various perspectives. Finally the session will invite some existing associations representative of the community and already contributing to AI, to present their support activities.
