Federated AI Meetings joint Reception

The reception is included for all registrants to the Main Conference IJCAI-ECAI 2018 and to the Saturday-Sunday workshops. Common reception for attendees at ICML, IJCAI-ECAI, AAMAS, ICCBR, and SoCS.

The Federated get-together party will take place at Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum, showcasing the whole of Sweden with houses and farmsteads from every part of the country. The reception is located at Solliden, the part of Skansen, which is used for traditional and very popular sing-along events every summer. The venue is available for the joint reception from 18.00 until 22.00. At Skansen historical buildings and wild animal life can be experienced. There will be activities in the old town area and folk music will be played with the opportunity of trying out Swedish folk dancing. Don’t forget to bring your badge!

Train+Metro+Bus: Take the train to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take red line no 13 to Karlaplan, switch to bus No 67 from bus stop C to Skansen.

Train+Metro+Tram: Take the train to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take red line no 13 to Östermalmstorg, walk to the Strandvägen tram stop, take the tram No 7 to Skansen.

Train+Subway+Ferry: Take the train to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take red line no 13 or 14 to Slussen, walk to the Slussen ferry stop, take ferry no 82 (Djurgårdsfärjan, 10 minutes) and get off at Djurgården. Take a short walk to Skansen.

IJCAI-ECAI 2018 City hall Reception

The City of Stockholm and the Stockholm County Council is hosting a reception in Stockholm City Hall, most well-known for hosting the Nobel Prize banquet each year. The reception begins at 19.00, please, be on time. A standing buffet will be served, and you may be able to join a guided tour of the city hall. Free for all registrants to the Main Conference IJCAI-ECAI 2018. Please note that this venue can only accommodate a limited number of people at any time. This event is organized on ‘first come-first serve basis’ and line-ups may form! We apologize for any inconvenience.

Take the train to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take the metro to T-centralen, and walk about 10 minutes to Stockholm City Hall.

IJCAI-ECAI 2018 Conference Dinner

Date: Tuesday July 17th, 2018

The conference dinner will take place next to the Vasa ship, the world’s only preserved 17th century ship in the most visited museum in Scandinavia. The Vasa ship capsized and sank in Stockholm in 1628. After 333 years on the sea bed, the mighty warship was salvaged and the voyage could continue. The Banquet will feature dinner and drinks along with guided tours and entertainment. To be noted: since the ship needs certain conditions to be preserved, the temperature in the building is kept to, at most, 20 degrees Celsius.

A separate banquet ticket is required. It is included in the Main Conference fee for non-student delegates. Please note that this venue can only accommodate a limited number of people at any time. This event is organized on ‘first come-first serve basis’ and line-ups may form! We apologize for any inconvenience.

The updated routes for public transportation from the conference venue to the Vasa museum are the same as to the federated reception at Skansen. The following are examples:

Train+Metro+Bus: Take the train to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take red line no 13 or 14 to Slussen, walk to the Slussen ferry stop, take ferry no 82 (Djurgårdsfärjan, 10 minutes) and get off at Djurgården. Take a walk to Vasamuseet. It also possible to walk from Stockholm Södra directly to the Ferry station which takes about 20 minutes.

Train+Metro+Tram: Take the commuter train to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take red line no 13 to Östermalmstorg, walk to Norrmalmstorg, take the tram no 7 to the stop at Nordiska museet / Vasamuseet.

Student Reception

Address: Linnégatan 87 F (the alternative entrance on Karlavägen 100 closes at 19.00)

 

UPDATED DIRECTIONS: Take the train to to the train station Stockholm Södra, walk to Metro station Mariatorget, take red line nr 13 towards Ropsten to Karlaplan, (aim for the exit “Karlaplan”), walk about 7 minutes to Linnégatan 87 F.

The Student Reception is included in the student registration fee for the main conference, and will feature food and beverages.

Lunch for Women in AI

Date: Tuesday July 17th
Time: 12.45-14.00
Place: the restaurant Parkside in the K section at the convention center

The lunch is located at the Convention Center. A small registration fee is required.The lunch will bring together the broad women community, including junior and senior faculty, researchers, students, and postdocs, and will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss how to grow the community of women in AI, and share success stories and best practices. There will be informal discussion at each table on individual experiences and sharing of information with others.
